For our first Volume in this newly released series we are featuring “Mr. Warmth” Don Rickles. Don Rickles has nothing against the people he insults while doing his routines, it’s all just part of the act. When asked about his insult comedy style Rickles stated “You know, every night when I go out on stage, there’s always one nagging fear in the back of my mind. I’m always afraid that somewhere out there, there is one person in the audience that I’m not going to offend!” Rickles was a favorite guest on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson and you can tell that Johnny loved to let him do his thing. Robin Williams appeared on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson nine times, and each time it was comedy magic. His first appearance in 1981 was legendary and he won Johnny over with his trademark manic energy and stream-of-consciousness lunacy. Over the years Robin was such a great guest that he landed a spot on Johnny’s penultimate episode with Bette Midler on May 21, 1992. The show was an immediate television classic. The aforementioned show as well as Robin’s first appearance have been released on the Ultimate Collection. Now we’d like to present you with three more classic shows featuring Robin Williams.

In 2013, Letterman surpassed his friend and mentor Johnny Carson as the longest-serving late night talk show host in TV history. Show 2: 08/30/91
In June of 1991, David Letterman got the official word from NBC, Jay Leno would succeed Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show. It was the end of the dream Letterman had carried with him since childhood. This is his first show after that news. Guests include B.B. King, Michael Moschen and the Mighty Carson Art Players.

A classic from Johnny’s final weeks hosting The Tonight Show. Join Johnny, Dave, Clint Eastwood and Bob Hope for a memorable evening.

Featured Guests Series - Volume 4
Jay Leno made his first appearance on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson on March 2, 1977. He was a hit with Johnny and The Tonight Show audience from the beginning. Starting in 1987, Leno was a regular guest host on The Tonight Show, and in 1992 he famously took over for Johnny Carson. Leno continued to lead all late-night programming in the Nielsen ratings prior to 2009, and he had his final show on February 6, 2014. Now, we’d like to present you with three vintage shows featuring Jay Leno.

For the first time ever we’re pleased to bring you Jay Leno’s second appearance on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. This show also features an extra special visit from the always fabulous Lucille Ball, as well as guests Joey Heatherton and Erma Bombeck.

Show 2: 06/22/88
Travel back in time to June of 1988 - Jay has become Johnny’s regular guest host and his career is soaring. Jay cracks Johnny up about his tools of the trade. Guests also include the always glamorous Raquel Welch and garbage man of the year, Ray Anderson.

Show 3: 05/16/91
A classic from Johnny’s penultimate year hosting The Tonight Show. The never-before-released final appearance of Jay Leno with Johnny as host! Jay is joined by Jaleel White and The Oak Ridge Boys, to make his final visit one for the history books.

Jerry Seinfeld’s career took off after he made a successful appearance on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson on May 6, 1981. Johnny was impressed and Jerry became a frequent guest on The Tonight Show. In 1989 the sitcom Seinfeld aired on NBC, and by its fourth season, it had become the most popular and successful sitcom on American television. All the shows featured on this DVD are before Jerry’s sitcom had aired on NBC. Now, we’d like to present you with three classic shows featuring Jerry Seinfeld.

A true classic is now released from the Vault. Not only does this show feature an appearance by Jerry Seinfeld early in his career, but it also includes one of Johnny’s most famous sketches by The Mighty Carson Art Players. For the first time ever, we bring you “Mr. Rambo’s Neighborhood.”

Show 2: 02/21/86
As we mined the Vault for shows featuring Jerry Seinfeld, we came across this historic show from 1986. Jerry Seinfeld is joined by drag racer Shirley Muldowney, and that’s not all, watch as the future “Queen of all Media” meets the “King of Late Night” during the first appearance of Oprah Winfrey on The Tonight Show.

Show 3: 06/09/88
A star studded evening closes this DVD as Johnny’s guests include Jerry Seinfeld, Arnold Schwarzenegger and an 18 year old Andre Agassi.

Burt Reynolds is thought to have appeared 61 times on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. Johnny and Burt’s moments on stage together are historic. Take for instance the time Burt sprayed whip cream down Johnny’s pants. Who else could do that? When we reviewed the three shows that are featured on this DVD, it was hard to believe that they had not been released before now. They are truly Tonight Show gold. And now we are pleased to present you with three gold standard shows featuring Burt Reynolds.

If you’ve ever seen the show from September 26, 1974 that’s featured on the Tonight DVD collection that was released in 2010, then you know the type of hijinks that Johnny and Burt can get into. This show is along the same line, and their visit together is just as hilarious.

Show 2: 10/12/84
This night is Tonight Show magic! A classic Monologue followed by Art Fern and another Tea Time Movie and then Burt Reynolds, Dom DeLuise and Dr. Joyce Brothers keep the laughs coming. This is Johnny at his finest with some of his greatest guests.

Show 3: 03/12/92
And for the final show on Volume 6, we bring you Burt Reynolds’ last appearance on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. And let’s just say Burt knows how to go out in style.

Steve Martin was more than "just a wild and crazy guy" he was also a favorite guest of Johnny Carson. Steve made frequent appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson starting in 1972 and continuing until the show ended in 1992. From his early days of off-kilter stand-up routines that mixed absurdist comedy with spurts of "happy feet", banjo playing and balloon animals to his days of starring in movies like The JerkDead Men Don't Wear Plaid, and Father of the Bride, Steve never failed to entertain and amuse. Now we're delighted to present you with three vintage shows featuring Steve Martin.

Johnny isn't sure who to give top billing to on this evening in 1982 when he's joined by guests Steve Martin and Sylvester Stallone. Stallone had just finished Rocky III and it's opening night for Steve's movie Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid.

It's the final Christmas season on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and the holiday cheer is in the air. Relive this bombastic revue when Johnny is joined by Steve Martin, Cathy Ladman and Leon Redbone.

Featured Guests Series - Volume 8
In 1980 Rodney Dangerfield was at the height of his popularity and at the top of his form. The movie Caddyshack was released on July 25, 1980, two days after the first show featured on this DVD. His comedy album No Respect won a Grammy Award that same year. His appearance in Caddyshack led to starring roles in Easy Money and Back To School. Rodney, who based his entire comedy routine on getting no respect, is ironically one of the most respected comics of all time. Now we're pleased to bring you two full shows and an extended bonus clip featuring Rodney Dangerfield during the peak of his career.

Not to be outdone Rodney Dangerfield steps up with a hilarious stand-up routine that keeps on going even after he's joined Johnny at the desk. And closing the show is an in-depth interview with Arnaud de Borchgrave.

An entertaining evening featuring Rodney Dangerfield, former President Reagan's son Mike Reagan and a stirring rendition of The House I Live In, That's America To Me by Donna Theodore to close out the show.

This special extended bonus clip includes over 50 minutes from this never-before-released evening in 1979 and Rodney deserves some respect! His hilarious routine and interview get the crowd and Johnny out of their seats.

Featured Guests Series - Volume 9
George Carlin was placed second on Comedy Central's 100 greatest stand-up comedians of all time list. Beginning in 1967, George appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson 105 times and always performed a stand-up routine. Carlin was also one of Johnny's most frequent substitutes during the show’s three-decade reign. In his early career Carlin's material and appearance were very mainstream, however that would change in the 1970's and George would become a representative for the burgeoning counterculture. Carlin unexpectedly stopped performing regularly in 1976 when his career appeared to be at it's height, he rarely performed stand-up during this period, but in the early 1980's he staged a comeback. Now we are pleased to bring you three quintessential shows featuring George Carlin.

Take a trip back to the day before Halloween in October 1980. George Carlin is beginning a return to his comedy career that has been on hiatus for four years. Also appearing is guest Joe Garagiola who famously guest-hosted The Tonight Show the only night that John Lennon and Paul McCartney appeared as members of The Beatles in May 1968.

In May of 1981, George Carlin returned to stage, releasing A Place for My Stuff and re-establishing himself as one of the best comedians ever. On this evening George is not alone. As Johnny famously announces he is joined tonight by "Two of the best comedians in the entire business" George Carlin and Richard Pryor.

Another classic from Johnny’s penultimate week hosting The Tonight Show. Join Johnny, Liv Ullman, Gloria Estefan and George Carlin as he makes his 105th and final appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson

Today Eddie Murphy is an American icon who has been making us laugh for 35 years. He's ranked #10 on Comedy Central's 100 greatest stand-up comedians of all time list. But in 1982 his rocket to superstardom was just beginning to take off. After watching the shows included on this volume it's apparent that trip was unstoppable. In 1982 Eddie released his first album, and made his big screen debut in the film 48 Hrs. He also appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson for the first, second and third time. Now we'd like to bring you all three of those shows in their entirety.

Jim's many appearances on the show were filled with animals crawling across Johnny's desk, shoulders and even atop his head.
